the new name of this publication is
a passionate creation
topics:
walking toward justice
civilization is able to establish justice
the work of civilization defines justice
the birth of civilization divines justice
working toward a maternal civilization
a philosophy for the third millennium begins with this premise.
if there is a creator, it is passionate about the creation.
the work of being is creating justice, comfort and security.
it is only people's failure to set the priority for civilization to be the achievement of equity that puts global interest against one another. if there is no creator, then the idea of justice and equity is reason enough to work toward that end.
civilization could be a passionate creation.
Barry Lopez campaigns relentlessly for people to return to a conversation with the natural world. on this point i agree whole hardheartedly. i hope civilization can unhinge itself from the patriarchy. i believe that maternal value could repurpose civilization. i believe a maternal civilization could include a vibrant conversation with the natural world.
unhinged from patriarchy
from patriotism, devotion to and vigorous support for one's country.
devotion is love
love of father
service to father
it is all biblical
deferring to the torah
i do not live in the natural world
i live in the civilized world
still i am a natural being
i am listening for the mother’s voice
the voice who whispers, sophia's dream of justice.
to say out loud, "milk first."
in 1977 or '78 i broke from the rule of conformity
i dared to cast my future into the charge of my muse.
for poetry i paint the imagination with sun rising on justice
she guided me to a work for justice, she lead me to a broken american dream that crushed the original people on this land. the rainbow rose over san fransisco. she emboldened me to camp where the poets gathered on telegraph ave. in berkley.
san francisco! city lights! the city of poets. where allen and lawrence became a vortex of poetry.
then to read my verse at the tattoo rose on columbus ave.
where i could draw and write in washington square below the gaze of coit tower.
san francisco! where at the cloudhouse bookstore a magic cloud took me up.
where the road grabbed hold of my feet and guided me across the continent to nyc.

to my muse i credit my passion for the creation. my passion for engaging the creation. my passion for being in the creation. and so i practice to be passionate about creation and passionate about being created, and so demonstrate passion in my work. passion is infantile and stays through life across time and space into death. it is a way of being. people only need practice being in the passionate creation. then civilization could be a passionate creation also.
this newsletter has claimed to confess the beginning of my works. and now i struggle to explain the goal of civilization. if all the teachings from a creator are to the service of 'a cause', then let that cause be peace on earth. end the soldiers plight and grief that sacrifice of life is honored. end the killing and conquest that bloodied the americas, africa, and asia.
