the meaning of memory
artist statement
the artist is engaged with the natural world where the muse informs him he is not in a natural world. the world he is in is designed. and the style of messaging in the design, provides the inclusion of possibility in the ordinary experience to reduce the message to its essential form and remember the beginning of time when language connected a sound with a form. and civilization began.
people design injustice and so . . .
a dream of justice and equity is a discovery of memory, when the fist word became. and thought began to organize the environment.
and yet it is a natural form of life and all living things do so.
then justice goes beyond us,
but if we dream it we may someday design it.
the paintings are from 1984 to 2024 and are stories of the artist revelation in ordinary experience that living can be a joy
