at the risk of demystifying the work, i have produced some sessions here that are recordings of me working and even discovering my process. the idea i held when i was first invited to be part of the Legs performance relay, was that i would tape the fabriano paper to the wall. and paint the poem while reciting it.
a couple days ago i received the information about my place in the program and that each participant will have 7 minutes to come onto the stage, set up their equipment, perform and then teardown their set and exit. i will be the 57th performer out of 60 total and i am scheduled to come on at 7:32PM .
i am reconsidering the plan to tape my paper to the wall. i may decide to use a large canvass on the easel. the canvass and easel may prove to be more difficult to transport to the location than my large roll of paper and tape. i think i want to go to the great hall on thrus. or fri. and see the plan for the layout and if the tape will hold the paper up.
here is a practice script that is on youtube. the speaking part of the poem runs only 3 minutes here, but i need to allot time for setting up my audio playback, easel, and paints, water, ground cloth etc. the next couple days i will be recording the audio playback and doing a mock dress rehearsal.
